Love Train: Irish Bride and Groom ride DART to their Dublin wedding

IRISH Rail driver Patrick Murray and his new wife Megan DARTED down the aisle after taking a train to and from their wedding today.

The loved-up pair stunned Thursday commuters when instead of sitting in Dublin city centre traffic, they hopped all-aboard the DART to and from their wedding ceremony.

DART driver Patrick wasn’t behind the wheel this time as they headed for the registry office in Dublin’s Grand Canal Street to exchange their vows and become man and wife.

But he did manage to grab a picture with his new bride in his work seat before they headed off.

Passengers on the Howth-bound train had a shock when they saw Megan looking beautiful in her gown on route to their ceremony.

Irish Rail congratulated the happy couple, sharing pictures of the pair in their wedding outfits, and said: “Love in motion!! Congratulations to DART driver Patrick and his beautiful wife Megan, who travelled to and from their wedding ceremony by DART today. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness.”

One commenter replied: “Brilliant, that’s the way to do it. Lot cheaper than a limo. Congratulations.”

While another said: “Congratulations, I wish you all the happiness and the best in your future together and your marriage.”

And many joked they hoped Megan got ‘free travel’ for the day.

The happy couple were joined by family and friends afterwards for celebrations at a Dawson Street restaurant, before toasting their new life with cocktails at bar Cafe En Seine.

The newlywed train driver and his bride took a sustainable way to get to the ceremony

Megan moved to Dublin from Canada after meeting Patrick.

The pair were set up by friends who had met the lucky groom before Megan did, and arranged for them to meet up when she landed in Ireland.

Now settled into their new life in Dublin, the pair had a rail-ly good time at the wedding.

And after getting the DART home together after their big day, the couple are on track to having a happy marriage together.
