Ireland – A Nation of Quitters?

The Health Service Executive can reveal that Ireland is now a nation of quitters – that is people who want to quit smoking.

According to HSE research, the State now has more people who have quit smoking – or want to – than those who now continue to want to smoke.

If you or someone you know would like to quit – or is struggling to give up cigarettes visit the HSE’s dedicated website www.quit.ie for advice and access to support

1 in every 2 smokers will die of a tobacco-related disease but 80% of smokers say they want to quit and 40% try to quit each year.
